About

Dough in a bowl.

Hi, I’m Tessa!

A person in a black sweater and light blue jeans stands in a modern kitchen, preparing food near a kitchen mixer and microwave.

I am a wife and a stay at home Mom in Canada. I grew up in a very busy household where we didn’t have regular sit down dinners as a family. Both my parents worked full time and everyone had very busy and hectic schedules.

My childhood was good in many ways; however, I found myself feeling very lost as a wife and homemaker as an adult. I was never actually taught how to cook homemade meals, how to grow my own vegetables, or how to clean and maintain a household. My parents were simply too busy providing for us. Therefore, I made it a goal to learn how to do all these things as well as possible.

I learnt from asking older women in my community, reading books, watching other homemakers who grew up with these skills and A LOT of trial and error! I consistently find myself testing and trialing healthy meals because I want my son to grow up with home cooked, from scratch, meals. I want his memories of our family to be ones of us sitting around the table enjoying food that was made with love. I want him to start a family one day and have the skills to grow his own food and bake his own sourdough loaves (if he wants to of course).

I started this blog to keep track of my most loved recipes and to document what I have learnt about homemaking since 2017. It also holds my favorite gardening tips, DIY projects, and helpful stay-at-home Mom hacks. I really love figuring out how to be productive, intentional and joyful in my homemaking journey. My goal with this blog is to share what I have learnt and inspire you to find joy in homemaking as well.

I named this blog Little Seeds for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it reminds me to have faith in God as I tackle each day ahead. Even a little faith can make a big difference in your life. Secondly, little seeds are a symbol of potential. They start out small and insignificant looking. But, with a little care, the potential of what they will become is endless. I hope this blog can be the little seed of joy or curiosity in your life that will allow you to grow in your homemaking journey. I really hope you enjoy learning and sharing in this experience with me!
