Equipment

  • 1 Stand Mixer or Large Bowl
  • 1 Set of Measuring Cups
  • 2 Cookie Baking Sheets
  • 1 Roll of Parchment Paper
  • 1 Small Cookie Cutter any shape will work
  • 1 Rolling Pin

Materials

  • 2 cups sourdough starter/ discard
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 Large eggs
  • cup olive oil
  • ½ cup peanut butter all natural
  • 2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300℉.
  • In your stand mixer or mixing bowl add the eggs, olive oil, milk, sourdough starter, and peanut butter. Mix until incorporated.
  • Add in the flour ½ cup at a time until well mixed together and has formed a dough.

  • Sprinkle flour onto a clean dry surface and roll out the dough.

  • Once the dough is rolled out to ½ inch thick, you can start to cut out the cookies and place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

  • Re-roll the dough until you have used it all up and all the cut cookies are on cookies sheets. These will not spread so you can place them relatively close to each other on the pan.

  • Bake at 300℉ for 50 minutes.

  • Allow the sourdough dog treats to cook completely before giving any to your dog. Once they have cooled you can place them into an airtight container.

Notes

These can be frozen for up to 4 months.
