Why do we love Easter so much in our house?
The main reason is because, as a Christian family, we are celebrating and remembering the most important thing that ever happened to humanity. Jesus died for our sins and gave us eternal life. That is definitely something worth celebrating!
We also love Easter because it is a time of renewal and new life as the spring buds start to open. Our cold, barren Canadian landscape starts to transform into a stunningly wild and lively place. The contrast truly is amazing!
Lastly, we love Easter around here because we own two bunnies that are my son’s pride and joy. So all the extra cute bunny decor and chocolates just make us smile extra big this time of year.

Top 5 Easy Homemade Easter Treats
Here are my top 5 Easter treats to make this year. My goal with this list is to give you recipes that are easy, homemade, and kid friendly so that the whole family will enjoy them.
Easter Bunny Bark

I love this recipe because it is so simple. You only need two ingredients. That’s it! It is also one that is really fun to make with your kids. It is simple, quick and fun for them to choose the different molds and shapes for their creations. You can find the whole recipe at The Pudge Factor website.
Easter Cookie Cake

Yes, you read that right. A giant cookie cake! And it is as delicious as it sounds. This east homemade Easter treat is a favorite for all the kids. The look on their faces when you bring out a giant cookie cake is priceless. It is also really simple to make and can be ready to serve in 40 minutes. Add some vanilla ice cream on the side and you are good to go! You can find the full recipe at the That Skinny Chick Can Bake blog.
Easter Springtime Bird Nests

In full transparency, my son did not want to eat these. But it wasn’t because they weren’t delicious. It was because “they were too cute to eat!” They are honestly such a cute easter treat. These are different because they use dried chow mein noodles and marshmallow instead of the more traditional wheat based cereal and chocolate. This gives them a more authentic nest look. It also gives them a really unique and yummy taste. You can find the full recipe at the Grateful Prayer Thankful Heart website.
Easter Whoopie Pies

This easy homemade Easter treat looks so impressive but is so simple to make! In this recipe she uses French vanilla cake mix as the main base of the dough. An alternative that I tried the other day is to make sugar cookies and roll them in sprinkles. This gives the whoopie pies an extra decadent taste! To find the original recipe check out The Farm Girl Gabs blog.
Puff Pastry Bunnies

Oh my goodness! These are hands down my favorite easy homemade Easter treat for the year. This recipe takes a little bit longer than the others but it is still really easy and it looks and tastes amazing. So, in my opinion, it was well worth adding to the list. To make this more of a “from scratch” recipe you can use my sourdough pie crust recipe. However, if you are in a rush and want to use store bought puffed pastry, you can do that also. For the full recipe check out the Domestically Blissful blog.
